The Espy Kitchen & Function Rooms can cater for any event. The Espy is THE place to party! Melbourne's iconic home of live music has a stunning kitchen and bar area and now truly offers the whole package; great food, reasonable prices, killer location and the same relaxed Espy vibe.

The Gershwin Room is the former grand dining room of the original Esplanade Hotel recently underwent extensive restoration, returning the hallowed stage to its original splendour and majesty and breathing new life into this room. Time had taken its toll on this Grande Dame of the stage, and so The Esplanade Hotel's owners undertook the massive task of extensively renovating and upgrading the space to once again thrust it under the spot-light as Australia's premier room. And more importantly, the Gershwin Room has been returned to its original vision of splendour and majesty, its intricate period details breathed new life. From the incredibly elaborate ceiling which has been painstakingly hand-finished, the gold leaf walls and rich, hand-rendered motifs, to the open fireplace, the Gershwin Room is now undoubtedly one of Australia's most beautiful spaces.

Minimum spends: SUN - THU: $5,000, FRI - SAT: $10,000

Please note: the above charges are what you are required to spend on the night of your event. The amount can be spent on food and beverage or beverage alone. It can be spent as a bar tab or by individual consumption. As long as these minimums are met, there is no extra charge. If you do not reach these minimums, you will be required to pay the balance.

If there are big bands booked for the Gershwin Room, the space may be unavailable. However, if a function is booked, and it's confirmed as early as possible, bands will not be booked that night.
