Middle Eastern artefacts and tribal screens as decorations, shisha pipes on offer, city views, water taxis cruising past - you could be mistaken for thinking this was somewhere other than Melbourne. Where Southbank's Alumbra lacks in physical space it makes up for with ambience (and a grandiose name).

These photos dont do it justice! Alumbra goes crazy on a Friday night. The crowd is really good looking and it usually has commercial house tunes pumping. The balcony (great for smokers) is spacious with bar stools and tables if you need it. Actually the whole place is open set so you dont get claustrophobic like most clubs. Its fairly difficult to get into if your a group of guys so make sure you balance it out with the number of girls. DEFINATELY worth it. There is also valet parking available which is perfect when you just want to get in and go nuts.
