Venue type: Bar
Review: Simon Woodhouse
Upstairs three flights of stairs to a room decked out with lawn, garden furniture and a hedge growing along the bar. Without a doubt, any lady to enter will be instantly transported to Pimm's heaven.
A more old-worldy gentlemen's club style room called the Parlour is located towards the rear, past the bar. As to be expected, service at the Parlour is via a personal drinks waiter with plenty of antique style furnishings around the room.
Our tip: The cupcakes.
Always Busy
Getting a seat can indeed be tricky.
Beer Garden
Even though Madame B itself feels like one entire patio setting, a beer garden extends on the roof as well.

A bar with Astro-turf? Indeed, and thats just where the craziness begins....
Kitted out almost like a country club, even the staff are dressed the part, serving cocktails by the jug, an extensive wine list, and even cupcakes are on the menu.
But the most important part - outstanding service, the staff are beyond obliging, from pouring of drinks, lighting of cigarettes, to straws and blankets out on the terrace (which was pretty cold... MB's terrace would be excellent in Summer though).
But all in all an awesome experience, because not unlike the Croft Institute, the theming is half the attraction.

Great rooftop bar decked out with the 'outside' inside. Fake grass inside is a great touch. Staff dress in country club style (think Chevy Chase in Caddyshack) and the rooftop deck will be awesome during summertime. For the brave souls out there during winter, the staff bring out blankets, so you can drink without freezing. It's not a massive venue, but is the most unique bar I've been to this year. I've been there on Saturdays and Mondays and it has always had decent numbers.

Perfect for that sunny afternoon with the girls, gossip and of course a few (too many??) jugs o' cocktails! Have had several wonderful afternoons/evenings here - straight from work or after an event or simply as my only stop. Both summer and winter it is one of my fav places to go. Great place to sit back, soak up the sun and enjoy all the wonderful taste-bud tingling colourful concoctions on the (pink velvet) list!
