Review: Mark Davies
Gone is the old beer barn replaced by the cool inner city pub. On one side of the hotel, there is a smart pub eatery with a large timber bar and wine racks going up to the ceiling behind it.
At the front of the hotel's an intimate lounge area called the Galla Room. Holding about 20+ people, it has its own fireplace and is decked out with rich velvet curtains and plush art deco ottomans and leather couches.
The second part of the hotel is the Doot Bar. Here there are screens of various sizes, playing music videos or sport. A DJ will often take over later to liven up things just that little more.

State of the art sound equipment allows patrons to pick and choose their own music all night and cheap bar prices on Wednesday night (student night) is something worth giving up the TV and armchair for.

Great pub with a lot to offer.
Good mixture of clientele across the week with the Wednesday night Uni night, Monday night Trivia, Saturday night retro & Sunday night live band.
Speaking of the live band, "Blue Pocket" perform weekly and are almost an institution down at the Doutta having played there for three years (formerly under the name "The Dan & Rex Band").
Meals at the Doutta Galla areof top quality and I can recommend the Parma.
A good solid pub with none of the rubbish. Good food, good beverage & great live music.
