Relaxed mucic venue set over two floors - downstairs being more of a general public area and upstairs hosting bands and DJs. Laundry goes quite late, and a cover charge often applies earlier in the night for gigs upstairs.

Readers' Reviews
The Laundry has now got another new owner and operator and one who has upgraded the venue ready for the future. A logo change and general facelift has been applied and the vibe is getting better and better.
Downstairs has been cleaned up and the whole bar area has been upgraded with new tap beers being introduced including some excellent tasting Guinness. There is now one of the best ranges of booze available anywhere in Melbourne.
The sound system and lighting has been upgraded downstairs so that better DJs and bands are now appearing with a wider audience turning up and enjoying the vibe.
Upstairs has had the works - fully soundproofed ceiling, new kicking Funktion One sound system and an upgradeded lighting system. This room really does now hold it's own against the competition and I am sure that we will be seeing better and better bands play there.
The sound system up stairs is really something to have a listen to - I have never heard anything like it anywhere else. Fridays are currently run by a bunch of top Melbourne DJs - Dave Pham, Mike Callendar, Heath Myers and Simon Slieker - go and check out their awesome deep and sexy tunes.
There are some ongoing upgrades still being done to the venue - such as the exterior signage and lighting and some interior decor - but the facelift already achieved has raised the bar for The Laundry and will make it a destination I am sure.

This is one of those venues where the music makes the vibe. It is a local (Fitzroy) place where you can encounter many of the same faces. The door staff seems intimidating but they are actually quite friendly. The atmosphere is dark and reminds me of university bars. But I think the main draw is the music. An interesting thing about this venue is it often takes risk and brings nights that may not be popular but are often fun and new.
