Venue type: Pub    Review: Simon Woodhouse
With live music as the drawcard, two things are assured: expect things to be busy, and expect things to be noisy. It all takes place in a relatively cosy environment though, with a family feel. The crowd's relatively eclectic: young, old, blue collar, white collar.
Live Music Venue
Expect live music most nights.
Readers' Reviews
An unpretentious friendly pub with live music (blues and country) and very good food in the restaurant area as well as good sized counter meals at the bar. Slightly older (30+) crowd. I've been to the Lomond many times during the last ten years and have enjoyed myself every time. NB. If you have kids, the soft drinks are free!

The Lomond is perfectly located. Situated opposite 3RRR, the potential for bumping into a musician or 3 is high! The pub enjoys an eclectic mix of patrons and you really feel comfortable whether you're a young hip Brunswick thing or a more experienced patron of life. You'll see brickies next to trendies next to beardies. There really is no sense of dress-code or exclusivity.

The music there is absolutely first class, and the food is pretty good too - haven't eaten in the bistro yet, but the pub meals are reasonably priced and sized.

Our first encounter with the Lomond Hotel was during the black Saturday bushfire appeals. There were approximately 13 or so bands playing throughout the day. We had a great time!!! That evening we decided to go into the bistro and have dinner.

Since that night we have been back on numerous occasions taking with us family or recommending friends. We had a large gathering of 14 there one night with people from Italy and America who are working out here joining us, they loved it and have since been back without us with their friends. So need I say any more. The food is out of this world for a pub. The atmosphere is cozy and homely.
