Venue type: Pub
Review: Julie Whiting
Old school pub with a very simple interior. The bar goes all the way around the venue, propping up many a local drinker - and if you follow it to Tramway's far side, the comfy chairs and couches won't disappoint. There is also a pool table for the more energetic.
Outdoor Area / Beer Garden
While not a beer garden as such, a rear outdoor covered area does the trick on warmer nights.
Second Opinion
It's very spacious at the Tramways. If, on a weeknight, you dragged everyone from the Lord Newry down the road to Tramways, you'd feel like you could fit another couple of hundred in. Well, guess what happens at the end of the week? The place gets packed.
Right, we've got the pool table, cocktail video game, and as Julie mentioned, a bar that is so long you feel it could cover the block. It's fairly bright inside, and the clientele, at least on a quieter night, is on the 30s upwards side of things. It's a pub, it's very local (it's on a back suburban street), and it's worth checking out at the very least for the great big tram coming out of the front door.
