The "Wick" is a pub with a local non pretentious freindly atmosphere. Great for the guys with the TAB, and fantastic for the girls who want a perve. Meals are delicious and cheap!

The Wick is never going to be a trendy pub, and nobody seems to care.
When i moved into Elwood I thought i'd never really head here very often but it just does the simple things well. TAB in one corner, a couple of pool tables, sport on every TV, jukebox, pinball machine, cheap bar meals, switched on staff and a simple but decent range of booze. Plenty of seating with some booths along one wall, couches, tables and dry bars spread across the room.
During the week the crowd is pretty laid back, the regulars sitting around the island bar with people kicking back on the couches or playing pool, lots of tradies and Elwood locals plus the standard St.Kilda area serve of backpackers sipping pints. Mostly mid 20's and older, but a few young ones hanging about as well.
On the weekends it gets nice and busy with live music friday evening and saturday night, the TAB (I don't gamble but from the stream of punters going in an out it must be ok) and the crowds from the local footy leagues that get played across the road. It's all about the sport here though, prime spots on the big couches under one of the plasmas are hard fought and the commentary for the games is played through the speakers for most games.
It's nothing flashy, but it's a good honest pub so if you can get past the slightly old fashioned image the pub is definitely worth a visit.
